15 August 2021 Kathmandu – SDGs National Network Nepal in partnership with various lead civil society organizations kicked off Nepal Peoples Forum on the SDG16+ (15-22 Aug. 2021) from today in Kathmandu. Main objective of the event is to deepen discussion on the issues of the challenges on the SDG16+. In the opening session Hon. Dr. Ram Kumar Phunyal from National Planning Commission, Mr. Adrian Morrice from UNRCO, Prof. Kapil Shrestha from TU, Adv. Sharmila Shrestha from Supreme Court Bar Association, Mr. Som Niraula from Alliance for Social Dialogue, and Ms. Dikshya Khadgi addressed the opening session. The session was organized in hybrid mode (in-person and virtual) so three hundred plus persons took part virtually. Mr. Daya Sagar Shrestha, Chair of National Campaign for Sustainable Development highlighted the background, objective and procedure of the one-week event. The event was moderated by Ms. Pratima Gurung, National Indigenous Disabled Women Nepal and welcomed by Ms.  Tika Dahal, Nepal Disabled Women Association Nepal. At the end, the vote of thanks was given by Mr. Tanka Biswokarma, Dalit Welfare Organization. In the week event, 8 thematic sessions and Nepal Youth Forum will be conducted.
